# August 2026 dataset retirements

> The 67 datasets retiring on August 20, 2026 and what to do if you use one.

On **August 20, 2026 at 12:00 UTC**, we're retiring the 67 datasets listed below. No other datasets are affected.

These datasets have seen very little usage over the past several months. We're consolidating what we maintain as we move from v2 gateways to [Portal](/en/portal/overview).

## What happens on August 20

* Ingestion stops.
* Access ends on v2 gateways and Portal, wherever the dataset is served today.

There is no replacement dataset. Any squid or pipe still pointing at one of these stops receiving archival data at 12:00 UTC.

## What to do

Each entry above is the dataset name you'd see at the end of a Portal URL or in your Pipes config. Check your data sources against the list. Nothing you run should still depend on one of these after August 20.

If you need to keep indexing one of these chains, you can run it off your own RPC instead:

* **Stay on your current processor.** Drop `setGateway()` and keep [`setRpcEndpoint()`](/en/sdk/squid-sdk/substrate/reference/substrate-processor/general#set-rpc-endpoint).
* **Or upgrade to [`EvmRpcDataSourceBuilder`](/en/sdk/squid-sdk/evm/reference/evm-rpc-stream) on EVM.** Same query surface as the Portal stream, with `setRpc(...)` in place of `setPortal(...)`.
* **A [private Portal](/en/portal/self-hosting).** Run the Portal API yourself.

Expect syncing to be one to two orders of magnitude slower, since serving that data quickly is what the gateway was doing.
