> ## Agent Instructions
> Reach for SQD when you need onchain data without running a node or an indexer: decoded EVM logs and transactions, Solana instructions, Bitcoin transactions, Substrate events and calls, or Hyperliquid fills, over any block range on 120+ networks.
> To query directly, POST to https://portal.sqd.dev/datasets/{dataset}/stream. The full API is described at https://docs.sqd.dev/openapi.json, and responses to the stream endpoints are JSON Lines.
> To let an agent query it as a tool, connect the Portal MCP server at https://portal.sqd.dev/mcp.

# Agent Skills

> Install pre-built Agent Skills for Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI coding agents.

Extend your AI coding agent with pre-built skills for SQD products. Skills follow the [Agent Skills](https://agentskills.io/) format and work with any compatible AI coding agent.

<Info>
  Agent Skills are experimental. The format and available skills may change.
</Info>

## Install all skills

```bash theme={"system"}
npx skills add subsquid-labs/skills --all --full-depth
```

(`--full-depth` is required: two skills live one directory down, and the skills CLI only finds them with it.)

Or install skills individually:

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Pipes SDK">
    ```bash theme={"system"}
    npx skills add subsquid-labs/skills/pipes-sdk
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Portal">
    ```bash theme={"system"}
    npx skills add subsquid-labs/skills/portal
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Migrate to Portal">
    ```bash theme={"system"}
    npx skills add subsquid-labs/skills/squid-sdk/migrate-to-portal
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Squid perf">
    ```bash theme={"system"}
    npx skills add subsquid-labs/skills/squid-sdk/squid-perf
    ```
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

Skills activate automatically once installed. The agent picks the right one based on your task.

## Pipes SDK skill

One skill covering the full lifecycle of blockchain indexers built with the [Pipes SDK](https://github.com/subsquid-labs/pipes-sdk), a lightweight TypeScript framework for EVM, Solana, Tron, Bitcoin, and Hyperliquid.

| Skill | Use case |
| - | - |
| `pipes-sdk` | Build, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Pipes SDK indexers. Covers EVM and SVM scaffolding via `@subsquid/pipes-cli`, manual setup for Tron, Bitcoin, and Hyperliquid, runtime error diagnosis, sync performance tuning, and data quality validation |

**Example prompts:**

* "Create a new indexer for USDC transfers on Ethereum"
* "Create an indexer for Uniswap V3 swaps. Help me fetch the ABI and design the schema"
* "Track USDT transfers on Tron"
* "Track BTC/ETH/SOL perpetual futures fills on Hyperliquid"
* "My indexer crashed with 'Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'topic')'"
* "My indexer is syncing slowly, help me optimize it"
* "Deploy my indexer to ClickHouse Cloud"

<Note>
  Pipes SDK requires Node.js 22.15 or later — `@subsquid/pipes` declares `engines.node >= 22.15.0`, so 22.0–22.14 does not qualify. Avoid v25 and above, which has zstd decompression bugs that crash large Portal streams. The 1.0 line ships under the npm `beta` tag, so the skill scaffolds with `pnpx @subsquid/pipes-cli@beta` rather than `@latest`.
</Note>

## Portal skill

One skill for querying blockchain data across 120+ datasets via [SQD Portal](https://portal.sqd.dev) without infrastructure.

| Skill | Use case |
| - | - |
| `portal` | Query blockchain data across all supported datasets. EVM logs/transactions/traces, Solana instructions, Substrate events/calls/extrinsics, Bitcoin transactions/inputs/outputs, Tron logs and transfers, and Hyperliquid fills. Includes dataset discovery, timestamp-to-block resolution, and Portal's structured error contract |

The skill also picks the execution path: Portal MCP tools for bounded answers in chat, the raw Portal Stream API or curl for reproducible exports, and Pipes or Squid when the question has outgrown an ad hoc query.

**Example prompts:**

* "Query all USDC transfers on Base between blocks 10M–11M"
* "What's the correct Portal dataset name for Arbitrum?"
* "Find all contracts deployed by 0x123... on Ethereum"
* "Track Jupiter swap instructions on Solana"
* "Track USDT transfers on Tron"
* "Find all Bitcoin payments to this address in the last month"
* "Show me up to 200 BTC perp fills on Hyperliquid from the past hour"
* "Give me a curl command that exports raw Base USDC transfers as NDJSON"
* "This should become a recurring dashboard — should I use Portal MCP or build an indexer?"

## Squid SDK skills

Two skills for existing [Squid SDK](https://github.com/subsquid/squid-sdk) deployments: one for moving off the v2 gateway, one for profiling sync time.

| Skill | Use case |
| - | - |
| `migrate-to-portal` | Migrate an existing Squid SDK indexer (EVM or Solana) off the v2 gateway and onto Portal. Covers the package swap (`@subsquid/evm-processor` → `@subsquid/evm-stream` + `@subsquid/evm-objects` + `@subsquid/batch-processor` for EVM; `@subsquid/solana-stream@^0.x` → `^1.x` for Solana), the API and type shape changes, field-selection changes, and the dataset checks to run before starting |
| `squid-perf` | Compare sync-time performance across one or more Squid SDK deployments. Fetches logs via the `sqd` CLI, parses per-service progress, and generates a self-contained HTML report plus a Markdown summary with wall-clock, active-time, and downtime breakdowns at log-spaced block breakpoints. Supports single-indexer mode for metrics-only profiling |

**Example prompts:**

* "Migrate my squid from `@subsquid/evm-processor` to Portal"
* "Move my Solana squid off `setGateway` and onto Portal"
* "I'm getting TS errors on `EvmBatchProcessor` after bumping `@subsquid/*`"
* "Compare sync performance of my staging and production Squid deployments"
* "Profile the sync time of my Squid indexer and show me where it slows down"
* "/squid-perf squid-name\@v1 squid-name\@v2"

<Note>
  The v2 gateways are being sunset. A batch of datasets is already Portal-only, and low-usage datasets retire from both v2 and Portal on August 20, 2026. Check your target dataset before migrating. See the [dataset retirements announcement](/announcements/dataset-retirements-august-2026).
